People Inc. enables users to manage a wide variety of HR-related information. The system includes screens and functionality to manage basic employee details, absence allowances and bookings, remuneration, appraisals and staff development, training course bookings, and staff recruitment.
The standard configuration of People Inc. provides screens and functionality to manage the following HR-related information. Using the screen design tools, it is easy to add to the scope of the information managed (and this is often done as part of the initial system implementation):

The People Inc. employee intranet module is a web-based tool that enables employees to book holiday on-line. These bookings are routed to their manager for approval, and then booked automatically into the database. Managers can also access the records associated with their employees using this tool, and should HR wish, managers can have responsibility for the maintenance of some of the employee-related details. All employee intranet access is achieved using a standard web-browser (ensuring that no additional software needs be installed on employees’ PCs).
The People Inc. system provides a wealth of functionality. The system is based on a range of tools designed to enable users to get the most benefit from their HR information. These include:
With the powerful screen design tool included in People Inc., users can tailor the information managed in their system. This is done by adding or modifying screens and data-fields. User-defined screens are fully integrated within the system database, and within the letter-generation, reporting and security tools.
The standard People Inc. system includes a wide variety of pre-defined report templates. These are designed to report on all aspects of HR. Reports can be viewed on-screen, printed, or generated as a PDF file or MS Excel spreadsheet. Users can modify the standard report templates if required; they can also create new report templates using the report design tool.
People Inc. contains ready-to-merge HR letters (and e-mails) created using MS Word. Users can modify these standard letters or add their own standard letters as required. Letters can be sent to candidates as paper documents (via the post) or delivered via e-mail.
People Inc. includes a centralised action list designed to manage details of any actions associated with HR activities. Actions can be allocated to individual users and given a priority and deadline. In addition, actions can be associated with any record in any screen, enabling the user to categorise actions as required.
The standard system includes a number of Wizards designed to assist in performing specific tasks, for example, adding a new employee record, allocating absence allowances, managing pay changes and job changes, etc. Further wizards designed to provide custom work-flow in the system can be provided on request.
